Impression is a collection of self portraits that embraces identity.
Being in predominantly white environments, specifically in education, people asked a lot of questions about my appearance simply because they could not relate.
It made me question my identity and present myself in a certain way for acceptance. This work is a response to that lived experience, purposefully embracing my natural state through hair, accessories and attire.
